Undergraduate Research Projects
Undergraduate students in our college have the almost unique opportunity to receive funds to complete a research project with a faculty member from their department major. In the spring, students share a poster or other display with their parents, other students, alumni, faculty, and donors who attend the CAHNRS Awards Banquet.Check out pictures from the 2005 presentation of undergraduate research projects as well as from the 2005 CAHNRS Awards Banquet.
Graduate Research
Our college offers graduate programs in Agriculture, Design, Food and Consumer Sciences, and Natural Resource Sciences. Research is an integral component of receiving a Master's Degree. Students pick a committee of faculty to help guide them through the process of choosing a topic for research, conducting the research and finally, completing a thesis. Students are able to apply for special funds from the Graduate School to help them travel or conduct research.
Assistantships
Most graduate programs have assistantships available for qualified graduate students. A department may recommend any student who has been admitted to graduate school for an assistantship. Many assistantships provide additional opportunities to work with faculty on various interesting research projects. Another advantage is that assistantships often help pay for the costs of graduate education.
College Leads in Student Research Opportunities
Over a thousand undergraduate students participated in an undergraduate research experience, supervised internship or teaching internship, thesis project, or co-curricular activities for personal and professional development under supervision of CAHNRS faculty.
